Lemos Farm

Yesterday we celebrated our friend, Lucy's 3rd birthday party at Lemos Farm (the same place we had B's 2nd bday). It's a great place with lots of fun things to do. B enjoyed a train ride, lots of time jumping in the jumpy house, operating a digger, picking out pumpkins, feeding goats, seeing chickens, and even eating donuts (his fave). He opted out of the pony ride which we were a little bummed about, but hopefully he'll go next year.

Me and my little pumpkins. Look how big Sloane is - 5 months today!

B is deciding which pumpkin he wants. Decisions, decisions.

He finally picked one!

This was the coolest! B got to operate a mini digger. He's really into anything that has to do with construction right now.
His hair was drenched with sweat. ha

B's 3rd Bday Party

On Friday we celebrated B's birthday at My Gym with friends. The kids ran around and played for 1.5 hrs, enjoyed pizza and a donut hole cake. The birthday boy had a great time!

B was too excited to nap in his bed before the party, but luckily he fell asleep on the couch for a bit.

B Turns 3

Dear Bennett,

I can hardly believe that you're already 3 years old. You are growing up so fast. These past 3 years watching you grow and learn have been some of the best years of my life. You are still the same sweet, caring, sensitive boy that you were as a little baby. You are super protective of me and your baby sister and have told me often, "I am the man of the house", when Daddy is gone. You tell me to rest when I am tired or say "Mommy, you need Starbucks". You are so smart, remember everything, and ask a million questions. You definitely keep me on my toes! You like to be active, have fun with your friends and are always smiling. You can be stubborn and challenging at times when you don't get your way and can be pretty bossy. Daddy says you got that from me (I think Daddy is just jealous that we gang up on him). You are super affectionate and always give us hugs and kisses, especially baby Sloane. It is wonderful to see the bond that you two share already. You are my favorite little buddy and I love palling around with you everyday. You make me laugh more than anyone in this world and your smile is infectious. B, I love you so, so much and can't wait to share in all the memories to come.

Love,
Mommy

Sloane 4 Months

Height: 26 1/4 in. - 97%
Weight: 13 lbs. 10 oz. - 50%

Little miss Sloane is getting so big. She likes to sleep on her side and rolled over back to tummy for the first time yesterday! She likes to grasp our fingers and is constantly grabbing her feet and toes. She prefers to stand most of the time when she's on our lap and loves it when we read to her. Sloane sleeps through the night most nights and is doing pretty well with the sleep training. Usually she takes her morning nap in the car seat or stroller, since we're always running Bennett around. I just started to wean her, but plan to nurse for another month or so. Sloane is getting a little more vocal/demanding when she wants something, but she's still our sweet little girl. Her smile lights up a room and she has the cutest little laugh.

B Goes Bowling

It was a happening Friday night in the burbs. We took B bowling at Palo Alto Bowl and then out for burgers. Oh yeah. I don't think they've renovated PA Bowl since it was built in the 70's. Justin and I were drinking beers looking around and laughing. We played 2 games and B loved every second. He kept telling us, "I do it all myself" every time it was his turn to bowl. We had to keep reminding him it was daddy or mommy's turn after his b/c he was ready to go again. Patience - we're working on that! Sloane was a champ, as always. She loved the loud music and all the action.

B would cool his hands down on the vent after every turn.
Can you see how excited and happy he was? He had to give us a high 5 after every bowl.
The first attempt with Daddy showing him how to do it. After this time he did it all by himself.

R.I.P. Chinese

No pics to post, but wanted to journal a convo I had with B last night. A few months ago we got him a Beta fish as a reward for staying in his new big boy bed. He named his fish "Chinese". lol Three weeks ago Chinese passed away and B didn't seem to notice so we never mentioned anything. Last night after bath he noticed Chinese was missing. Here's how our convo went:

B: "Where'd Chinese go Mommy?"
Me: "B, Chinese got sick and went to heaven."
B: "Ohhhh. I'm sad."
Me: "I know, I'm sorry honey but he is in heaven now."
B: "Did he fly like a bird up to heaven's house?"
Me: "Yes he did. At night when you look up at the stars, Chinese is one of those stars shining down on you." So we went outside so B could look up and he spotted a star.
B: "Look Mommy! There is Chinese and he sees me!"

Okay, I had no idea how to handle that situation but B quickly turned from being sad to happy so I think I did okay????
