Weekend at Home

It's been a long time since we've spent a weekend at home, just the three of us. We took full advantage of the sunshine by working in the yard and getting other odds and ends completed. It wasn't all work though. We had lots of fun playing with B and I even got to sneak away for lunch and vino with my good friend Sara today. Here are a few pics of our great weekend.

Relaxing Sunday evening on the front deck. Notice B's little tummy!

Evening baths are a necessary requirement of B's bedtime routine now that's he's eating solids. He really loves to splash around and play in the tub.

Here is a video I took of Bennett watching Justin play darts in the "man cave". I guess watching Dad drink beer and play darts is pretty funny! :)

Happy Birthday Dee!

We were so excited to celebrate Dee's 28th birthday yesterday in Palm Springs. Dee is an awesome auntie to Bennett and the best sister! We always have so much fun together. We love you Dee!

Palm Springs!!

We just returned from 4.5 days in sunny Palm Springs with the Simon clan and had so much fun! The weather was HOT so we got in lots of pool time, played tennis, ate lots of yummy food, etc. Bennett took his first dip in the pool while we were there and loved the water! I can't wait to start him in swim lessons soon. Bennett slept through the night every night and napped well so I was in heaven. Vacations and traveling always seem to throw us off our sleep routine so this was a nice change. Maybe we've turned a corner?!

B is rollin' all over the place now!

Future Rocker?

Today we started music class and had so much fun! Bennett loved every minute of it and was waving his arms and smiling the entire time. After we got home, I decided to pull out some music toys of our own (gifts from my cousin Sara) and continue with the lesson. I think teacher Nicole is much more talented than I am though!

Rockin' out with the tambourine.
Hello my name is Bennett - his first name tag. :)

The jingle stick was his favorite.

Happy Easter!

We enjoyed a wonderful Easter with family yesterday. As usual, Grandma spoiled everyone with Easter baskets and yummy ham dinner. It was so hard to say goodbye last night. We had so much fun the past four days and can't wait for our next trip to the PNW!

Bennett got his Easter basket at 7AM from Grandma (we had been up since 5:30am). No sleeping in for this guy on vacation.
Bennett and Kennedy all dressed up in their Easter duds.
Great Papa and B watching the Masters.
The two cousins playing together. It was more like a friendly tug-of-war. :)
My dear friend Molly came over to see Bennett before we headed to the airport.

Grunting = Bath Time

We were enjoying a nice crab dinner with Papa, Gma, Auntie Val, Mark, and Great Papa last night when we heard our little man grunting and turning bright red. Everyone started laughing b/c we KNEW what he was up to! :) We quickly finished eating and put Bennett in the bathtub. Grandma has lots of fun bath toys, so the baths this weekend have been longer than the ones we take at home.

Party Time

We had a great time yesterday at Carter's 3rd birthday party. Here are some pictures of our fun day!

Carter gave Bennett some beads from his Easter basket. B was busy playing with them. He loves playing at his cousin's house. There are so many fun toys!

Auntie Katie even had a hard hat with Bennett's name on it. How cute is that smile?!

Mr B and Kennedy....hard to believe they are almost the same size now.

First Day in Ptown

Bennett and I arrived safe and sound into Portland yesterday morning. B did great on the flight. He is such a seasoned traveler now with 4 plane trips in only 6 months! Auntie Katie picked us up with Carter and Kennedy in tow. We had all 3 kiddos buckled in the backseat. Wish I had thought to snap a picture of that, it was quite a sight! Here are some photos I captured of our fun day.

Here are the boys with their monkeys. Carter and Bennett have the same one so Carter insisted they get a picture of them together right when we walked in the house.

Uncle Kyle came home for lunch to play with his favorite nephew.

I had to put this picture on here b/c I think it's hilarious. Carter is showing me some of the decorations for his upcoming birthday party (the theme is "construction"). Notice his outfit. He is wearing my shoes although I'm not sure those go with the party theme. :)
Papa picked us up from Kyle and Katie's after B's afternoon nap. Here they are playing together.
Bennett with his Great Papa, 87 years young and quite a firecracker. Papa had him giggling right away....too cute.

What an Arm!

I always put Bennett in his bouncy chair while I shower in the morning. Well, today I heard this loud noise so I jumped out to see what happened. As I looked around, I noticed that he had ripped the elephant off the mobile and tossed it clear across the room. My first thought was, "Wow, good throw buddy!" Justin must be making me watch too many baseball games. :)

The plastic elephant lying in the background.
To give you an idea of how far he threw it....this is the view from our bathroom.

Pajama Day

Sitting up like such a big boy

Today my little man and I decided to spend the whole day at home in our jammies which we have NEVER done before! It was rainy and cold outside so we had a great excuse. Bennett sat up in his crib and played with his favorite monkey while I packed his clothes for our trip home. I must admit, packing for a baby is a lot of work (there is so much gear) but much more fun than packing for yourself! It's been 4 months since Bennett and I were in Portland and I can't wait for everyone to see how much he's grown.

Who Needs Sleep?

We've been quite busy the last four days. Auntie Val and her boyfriend Mark visited us for 4 nights during their spring break, Fin came down to visit from Portland and I threw a baby shower for one of my best friends on Saturday. The one weekend when I probably needed some good sleep right? Well our little guy was definitely going through a growth spurt b/c we were up 4 times a night for 4 nights in a row. It was brutal!

I had a girls night out last night and was fully prepared to have another hard night when I returned home but I'm happy to report that Bennett slept through the night. THANK GOODNESS!
