Gobble Gobble

Just realized my posts are a bit out of order, whoops. I need more sleep! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! We enjoyed a great turkey day celebration in Tahoe with the Simons. So fun to escape the real world and head up to the snow to relax for a few days. We are so thankful for all our wonderful family and friends.

Working off all that turkey Friday in the snow storm

Check out those gloves!

Man, shoveling snow is hard work. Time to sit in the massage chair and relax.

First Football Game

What can I say, football is in Bennett's blood. We went to the Stanford vs. Notre Dame game on Saturday with friends and boy, was it an exciting game! I must admit, I was a bit hesitant to take B. I thought there was no way he would last through hours of tailgating and a 5 pm game time, but knowing Julie would be there with Annalia made me agree to it. Our mommy game plan was to have fun together and last as long as the kids would allow, then run out to the car and get them home to bed. Bennett looooved the game. He clapped whenever the crowd cheered (which was A LOT of clapping) and fell asleep on me during the 3rd quarter. He woke up and was ready to go with 5 minutes left in the 4th. Bummed I missed the exciting finale, but I was so proud of my little guy.

I didn't take many pics, but here is B and Annalia in the wagon before the game. They loved riding around in it together.

B leaning in for the kiss. :)
Success? Hmm....he's smiling and Annalia is covering her mouth. ha

Meet Lucy

We dog sat Scott and Martin's 5 year old Brittany the last few days. We've taken care of Lucy a bunch over the years, but this time was much different since Bennett joined our family. Bennett was in heaven and followed Lucy around everywhere. I'm pretty sure Lucy gained a few pounds during her stay with us and I thoroughly enjoyed her licking up Bennett's scraps after meal time. My hardwood floors never looked so good. Thank you Lucy!

Bennett eating honey sticks in the car. He would feed one to Lucy and then Lucy would lick his fingers!

Katie and Baby Elie!

My best friend Katie and her 4 month old daughter Elie came to visit us from Portland the past 4 days. It was so much fun to have them in town! Bennett was super into Elie the first day and then pretty much did his own thing the rest of the time. He kept saying, "Hiiiii E" and then would pat her head. Elie is such a good baby and smiles all the time. I loved getting my special cuddle time with her (something I miss dearly now that B is so busy and mobile). Believe it or not, the kids were on the same schedule and napped GREAT, so Katie and I got to have some QT of our own. HEAVEN!!

Holding hands

Elie LOVED Justin and spent many hours sleeping on him. B was a bit territorial when one of us would hold Elie. He would have to come hug us or sit by us so he wasn't forgotten.

Wknd in Tahoe

The three of us headed up to the Simon cabin for a last minute weekend getaway. The weather was cold but beautiful.

B likes climbing onto/into anything these days.

So happy with himself. :)

After lunch on the lake Saturday, we headed to a nearby toy store. B loved playing with the Thomas the Train set.

He spent a lot of time here so I had to buy him a new toy!

This was his "new thing" for the weekend. He would climb up on the fireplace and shake the doors.
I would put him back on the ground and the minute I would turn my back he was up there again.

Caught him up there AGAIN on Sunday morning.

Watching Daddy shovel snow off the deck.

Time to join in on the action......

Future snow shoveler? Grandpa Simon will love it!

28 Hours of Pure Bliss

On Saturday I checked into The Ritz in HMB with two of my girlfriends for a much needed night away. Life has been extremely hectic these past few weeks and this little get away couldn't have come at a better time! Helping plan B's school fundraiser somehow turned into what felt like a full time job. In between taking care of B, Justin and the house, gym class, school, tanning clients, working at The Dailey Method, etc. etc. I was running on empty. Literally, I was counting down the days until last Saturday to go away with my girlfriends and have some down time. We checked in around noon, enjoyed spa treatments all afternoon, drank lots of vino, had an early dinner, rented a movie and were ASLEEP by 8:30 p.m. Can you say GRANNIES? We woke up at 7 a.m. and I was in SHOCK that I slept for 10 straight hours. My body was probably wondering what had happened since it hasn't had that much sleep in 2 years. haha Sunday we got our lattes, sat out by the ocean and talked. Then we ordered room service, crawled back in bed and read gossip magazines until 1 p.m. I'm happy to report that Justin survived taking care of B all on his own and the boys had some good bonding time. A wonderful weekend for all......

My Dream Come True.......

Most everyone knows that I have OCD when it comes to cleaning. I blame my mom for the disorder, but I don't think it's a bad thing right? Kids naturally mimic what their parents do, so I couldn't resist capturing my little man swiffering the hardwood floor this morning. Bennett is the best helper and I love all the little sounds he makes as he's "pretend" cleaning.

Getting under the bench......he's so smart!

Gettin' low......wish I could do squats like that!

On the move......

Trick-or-Treat

Wow! What a fun Halloween weekend we've had. My mom flew in on Thursday night to kick start the festivities. It was so wonderful to have her in town. We went out to lunch, shopped, took B to the park, baked lots of goodies, etc. etc. Justin and I went out on a date on Friday night while she babysat. Always a lovely treat.

On Friday afternoon we took Bennett trick-or-treating on Laurel Street in San Carlos. He walked up and down the street for an entire hour and had a ball! B loved seeing all the kids in their costumes, but wasn't too interested in collecting the candy. I'm sure that will change next year!

Lil puppy at the bank.

Getting ready to collect some yummy treats.
How cute are these two little puppies?

"Who wants Twix, Butterfinger, or Milky Way? I want some of this expensive chocolate."

We ran into B's friend from school and they were so excited to see each other.

The elephant on Halloween night practicing his grab technique in our treat bag. Thanks Gma Simon for the cute costume!

"I'll take these two!"

I love this pic. He looks like he just got caught taking some treats.

J and I took B down our street in his wagon (we made it to 5 houses). He walked up to each door with his treat bag and glow stick. One of our neighbors was giving out candy to the kids and margs to the parents. Needless to say, we ended up staying at their house for awhile!

The little elephant was tuckered out from trick-or-treating. Grandma loved giving B his bath and reading to him before bedtime.

Had to include this funny pic. Sunday 10a.m. -- the boys are watching the 49er game and eating Gma's yummy homemade carmel corn. Where are B's pants Justin? I wonder what happens when I'm NOT at home?? ha
