1st Day of Preschool!

On Tuesday B started preschool down the hill at Holy Cross. He will be going 2 days a week for 3 hours. Although it was a little bittersweet for me, I am ready to get into a routine and have some special time with Sloane while B is at school. He is so excited about school and I know he'll do great. He told me yesterday when we were getting ready, "Mommy, I will make new friends at my new school". I have no doubt he will. He is one social dude.

Right before we left. Bad pic quality from my phone. :(

Eagle Crest

We spent last week in Central Oregon for our annual August trip to Eagle Crest with my family. I was nervous about the 10 hour drive, but both kids did amazingly well. The week was filled with many fun activities for all. Justin got to golf a bunch, B swam, hiked, biked, played at the park, etc. Great to spend some QT with the fam. :)

Swimming with Gma
Carter, Kennedy and B golfing.

Uncle Kyle coaching B.
The oldest and youngest grandchild.
Kennedy looooved Sloane. She was such a big help to me all week and kept calling S "Sloanie". Too cute.
B on a hike down to the river.
The clan at the river.
Papa and Sloane.

Playing baseball in the backyard. There were lots of baseball, soccer, tag, etc. going on each day. We would tell Kyle and Justin "to run em and wear em out"!
These two are like oil and water but made us laugh with all their "serious" conversations/arguments about who knows what.
Feeding the ducks.

Playing football.
Playing at the park.

Big Boy!

I am happy to announce that Bennett is finally potty trained! We hadn't tried any PT as of yet, so after consulting with many friends and preschool upon us, I decided to give the 3 day PT method a shot for our first go around. Being trapped in our house for 3 days was tough, but we made B throw every single diaper and pull up AWAY and go straight to underwear. Day 1 was a huge success - no accidents, a poop on the potty, and woke up dry from nap and nightime. Day 2 we experienced a few pee accidents but he still woke up dry from nap and nightime. Day 3 was a success with no accidents AND telling me when he had to go (including a poop!). His favorite part is flushing b/c flushing the toilet is so exciting ya know. :)

Today we ventured out of the house for a morning play date and then a lunch date. (Can you tell I was DYING to get out of the house and see friends?) He had no problem going potty in public restrooms (which I was a little worried about). I am so proud of Bennett. I know we'll experience some accidents in the future and no kid is perfect, but he really made this whole PT process so easy on us. I told Justin we are so lucky b/c every major change in his life he has experienced thus far, he has had no problem adjusting. He gave up the bottle cold turkey with no crying/whining, same deal with the pacie, transitioned to his boy boy bed with no issues and now PT. I am one happy Mama!!

Hooray, I'm a big boy!
So proud of himself!

That smile :)

2 Months

I can't believe another month has gone by. Sloane is going great. She is smiling a ton now, is up for longer stretches during the day, loves playing on her activity mat (and is even scooting at 45 and 90 degrees already), sucks on her hands and fingers, and likes sticking her tongue out and smacking her lips. I love watching all her new facial expressions develop. She is our mini Justin. I think she looks more like him than Bennett did as a baby. Bennett is pure entertainment for her - she likes to watch him play and always turns her head in the direction of his voice and smiles. B adores his baby sister. Yesterday she was sitting in her bouncy chair and I walked out to find him wiping her mouth with a burp cloth b/c "mommy she spit up" and then he put her binkie in. He is so loving and caring towards her. The 6-7 week mark was a bit rough for us as Sloane had long crying spurts late at night. I'm glad that was short lived though. I can remember sleeping in the guest bed with Bennett lying on me for 2 weeks when he was that age just to get him to sleep. The past 3 nights Sloane has slept 7-8 hours!

Tahoe

The Simons hosted us for a week at a beautiful cabin on Lake Tahoe (their current cabin is under construction). We had a great week in the mountains with lots of trips to the beach and even a fishing trip for B! He caught 2 fish but wouldn't take a picture next to them b/c he was scared. ha

Portland Trip

The kids and I headed to Portland for a quick visit at the end of June. So much fun to see all my friends and family and show off baby Sloane.

In the playroom with Jack and Lauren. B had a blast with them and we're so glad they came over to visit.

Jack is a pro at holding babies. His brother Charlie is 4 months old and such a cutie.
Cutie pie Lauren holding Sloane while she yawns.
Big cousin Kennedy was so good with Sloane.
Happy Bday Grandma!
Can't believe how big Brady has gotten! We loved spending time with him everyday.
Jack & Elie came over to play too. Love these guys.
